Session Descriptions

Adult Fitness Swimming (Ages 16 and up) Instructor: Bruckner Chase
AFS is a Coached work-out for ADULT. The intent is to create an environment that welcomes those who may just want to add something new to their pool swims as well as the seasoned swimmer.   Participants should already know how to swim, should have a basic knowledge of the four competitive strokes and be able to complete 8 lengths of the pool without stopping.

Beginner Karate Self Defense (Ages 8­ to adult) Instructor: Bob McAnn
Learn the basics of self-defense to defend against a bear hug, punch, front grab and a strike.

Boot Camp (Ages 13 to adult) Instructor: Carrie Merritt 
Are you ready for a fun, fast paced, efficient, full body workout? If your answer to that is yes, than come check out fitness boot camp! Fitness boot camp is a group exercise class that mixes traditional calisthenics and body weight exercises with interval training and strength training. Be ready to push your body hard and have fun too!  All fitness abilities are welcome.

Bootycamp (16 and up) Instructors: Amy Godfrey and Brian Wright

Increase the appearance and function of your gluteus maximus by incorporating strengthening and sculpting exercises that will firm, lift and boost your booty. This class was designed to boost athletic performance by enhancing the major power muscles in your body or to look better in your jeans.

Come play family yoga (All ages) Instructor: Michelle Whelan
Enjoy this creative approach to yoga, including partner poses, games, music and fun, new ways to breathe. Family yoga is a great way to create lasting memories and family bonding time! For parents and kids of all ages.

Fitness Evaluation (Ages 18 and up) Instructor Amy Godfrey
Must call Exodus (609-399-0595) in advance, limited spots available per class.
A comprehensive evaluation including musculoskeletal, functional, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular testing. A detailed plan can be developed for you to address your specific needs and goals based on this evaluation.

Kids Fitness (Ages 5 to 11) Instructor: Carrie Merritt
The Mission:  Inspire kids to value fitness and wellness. The Goal: To expand a child’s awareness of the multiple disciplines of fitness. How: Kids will experience a fun and interactive program that encourages growth and development. Group games, “drills” and an introduction to calisthenics will be used to promote fitness. Parents are encouraged to participate!

Men’s and Women’s Weight Lifting Competition (Ages 15 and up)
Must call LOCAL gym (609-545-8732) in advance, limited spots available per class.        
Men: Bench Press Competition on Saturday, February 11, starting at 12:30 pm
Women: Bench Press Competition on Saturday, February 11, starting at 2:00 pm

Mindful Meditation for Inner Peace, Health and Success (Ages 18 and up) Instructor: Amy Godfrey

Since there is already yoga going on…will focus on meditation piece at Exodus
Meditation allows you to connect to your inner Self and realize your potential as a human being.  It brings balance, rest, and a growing inner peace. Practiced on a daily basis, meditation produces profound results on all levels of your being–physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Mindfulness meditation can also help with improved performance. Most people believe that improving performance is a matter of practicing the same thing time and again. Though if you meditate on what you are wanting to achieve you can improve your results faster.  Enhance your mind power in this class to open your opportunity for success in every area of your life.

Spinning™ (Ages 16 and up) Instructor: Lisa McGuigan

Riding bikes that adjust in various positions to fit each rider, it is very important that your bike is set up properly for your size. Bring a towel and water bottle—you will sweat in cycle class, dress appropriately, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! This can be an intense workout with an instructor and music.

Sports and Conditioning or Athletic Fitness Development
(6th to 8th grade) and (9th to 12th grade) Instructor: Carrie Merritt
The goal of this class is to develop a young athlete’s physical skills including strength, speed, agility, stamina, coordination, balance and flexibility. This class focuses on essential movement fundamentals for the whole body to best prepare student athletes for sports participation.

Sugar Blues (All ages) Instructor: Chris Zellers
Do you and your family consume too much sugar? Do you realize where you’re getting hidden sugar from in your diet? Do you know how sugar is affecting your bodies and your overall wellbeing? Attend this informative workshop aimed at teaching you how to reduce your sugar cravings and to eat sweet foods in enjoyable ways without affecting your weight or your

TRX CLASS (Ages 14 and up) 
Must call LOCAL gym (609-545-8732) in advance, limited spots available per class. 
TRX is a dynamic suspension system that allows clients of all fitness levels to enjoy a total body workout. The instructor will guide you through a suspended workout that will have your muscles enjoying each movement and ready for each new exercise. There are no requirements for this class.  TRX is modified for any ability level; it’s the perfect workout to develop strength, flexibility, and endurance.

Water Exercise Class (Ages 13 and up) Instructor: Debbie Tweed
Designed to increase flexibility, circulation and muscle tone. Water is used as resistance, which places less stress on your joints. Class may utilize floatation equipment. Non-swimmers welcome.

Yoga (Ages 13 and up) Instructors: Sharon Gibboney, Suzanne Chew
This class is designed to build strength and stamina doing a variety of postures. Then unwind during a period of relaxation.
